RV transport companies in North Carolina should have a strong track record in customer service, experienced drivers, and reliable equipment for hauling. It would be best to look for companies that offer competitive rates, extra services such as RV set up upon delivery and other special requests.

RV transport cost per mile from North Carolina varies by company, distance, and your RV’s size, weight, and value. Typically, rates range between $1.00 to $3.50 per mile in the continental US. Some RV Transport companies will also have a fuel service charge or flat rate for short mileage transports less than 100 miles.

Yes, RV transport companies in North Carolina will generally charge you $2.00-$4.00/mile for hauling a fifth wheel from one location to another within the state. While a Bumper Pull RV will generally cost you between $1.50-$2.50/mile to transport from one location to another within the state. The total cost for either RV will depend on the size and weight of the trailer, as well as the distance it needs to be moved.

Before your RV transport company arrives to move your RV you will need to make sure it is ready for travel. First step is to secure all loose items inside the RV that may shift during transporting. Also unplug and secure any electronics that may get damaged during the transport process. Second make sure all the slide outs are retracted and locked, remove any loose items on top of the RV and check the air in all of the tires and make sure they are in good condition. You will also want to make sure all of your land connections (water, sewer and propane tanks) are capped off, closed and stored away. Double check you awnings and make sure they are rolled in and in the locked position. Have all of the stabilizers in the up position so that only the ones needed for loading are in the down position. Lastly lock the doors, windows, vents and all cargo bins so they will not accidentally open durning transport.

Some RV transport companies may offer additional services such as temporary storage, detailing, and set-up. After delivery of your RV, you should check for any damages that occurred during transport and make sure all systems are in working order. Take the time to inspect the vehicle thoroughly before signing off on it.

Make sure you have already agreed with your transport company on a delivery date in advance. The time needed for an RV transport depends upon a few factors, such as the origin and destination points, distance to be traveled, size of the vehicle, type of service required, and road conditions. Generally speaking, most jobs will take 7-14 days to complete.
